In this post I’d like to talk about the Credential Report and the Access Advisor. These are two very useful reports you can view to learn the security of your account and can provide information on how to improve. First off the Credential Report is generated from the account level and allows you to look at individual users and see information such as a last login time, if an access key be generated, if MFA has been used, etc. It provides a lot of info on account access. That brings me to the Access Advisor, you access this by selecting the specific user in IAM and selecting the Access Advisor tab. This report allows you to see what services and permissions are mainly used by the selected account allowing you to follow principle of least privilege and remove access from services not used.
